Killed on 10 April 1945 when his Halifax V, NA240, crashed into a small village named Zaasch, near Delitzsch, Germany, while en route to Leipzig for special duties. Rear Gunner Max Hibberd was the only crew member to survive; those killed were Murray Frank, Neil Evans, John Tait, Fred Brooks, Ron Taylor, and John Heggarty.
